The governors and staff of Fellview School are committed to equality of opportunity for all pupils and, given appropriate resources, welcome all children with special needs from within our community.
We aim to provide a broad, balanced and relevant education for all children who attend here and our achievements in this respect were recognised in our latest OFSTED Report.
“Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities progress well due to the well-tailored support provided by teaching assistants.”
At all times the needs of the children, whatever their ability, are catered for through careful differentiation of tasks. We do 'set' for Maths and English higher up the school. This allows for all pupils to work with others of similar ability. High achieving Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to extend their maths skills by working with a teacher from a local secondary school. The school works in conjunction with a number of local schools to provide experiences across a wide range of subects, such as music, art and science, for pupils who show particular talent.
